The main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has suffered another setback after hundreds of its loyalists dumped the party for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos.

Receiving the defectors, the Chief of Staff to the Governor of Lagos State, Mr Tayo Ayinde, expressed delight by the move by the Alausa community to embrace the Renewed Hope manifesto of our presidential campaign.

He congratulated the people of Alausa for joining the progressives family while assuring them of accelerated development when Asiwaju Bola Tinubu takes over the rein of leadership as President of Nigeria.

He advised the former PDP members to vote for all APC candidates in the forthcoming general elections on February 25th and March 11th.

He reminded them that they belonged to Asiwaju’s ward noting that with their defection APC would now score 100% in the ward as nearly every resident is now an APC member.

Ayinde who is also the Director General of the Independent Campaign Council, (lCC) Lagos APC appreciated the former PDP ward leader, Mr Alao Olatunde, on the move, saying it was the right time to pay back the former Lagos State Governor for his contributions to nation-building.

In the same vein, the leader of the group, Alhaja Awulat Olatunde commended the administration of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, expressing delight at his transformational achievements which had turned Lagos to a Mecca of sorts for all Nigerians.

The former PDP woman leader in Alausa said it was homecoming for her and other defectors as they had always identified with the progressives in the state. She expressed admiration for Asiwaju Bola Tinubu whom she described as the leader of all leaders and a worthy presidential candidate.

She thanked Ayinde and the other party leaders present for the warm reception.

The ceremony was witnessed by party leaders including the ICC chairman and Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC) members, Cardinal James Odunmbaku, and Dr Yomi Finnish, among others.
