Umtiti To Be Shown The Exit Door

Spread the love

Samuel Umtiti has grown used to seeing himself on Barcelona’s list of transferable players. The French centre-back has found himself in this same situation for a number of transfer windows now, and the Catalans are again hoping to offload him this summer.

The player himself has stood firm so far, as he has managed to resist and stay put at the Camp Nou. Barcelona, though, have now made it clear beyond any doubt that he does not have a future at the club, and he’s not considered necessary by the club nor coach Ronald Koeman.

Due to injuries and poor form, the club are desperate to see him leave this summer. That desire is only increased by him being one of the top eight earners at the club.

Umtiti, currently working hard in the gym on holidays, is into his final few weeks as a Barcelona player. As far as the club are concerned, he is not going to be there come next season. His contract running until 2023 is not something they believe to be of any importance.

Barcelona appreciate the service that Umtiti has given to the club, but they have made it clear that he has to find a new club this summer. The club themselves are also trying to find a buyer, and it appears to be that there is more interest in his services in France than anywhere else.

Barcelona spent 25 million euros to sign Umtiti from Lyon in 2016. They’re refusing to let him go for nothing and hope to pocket between five and 10 million euros by selling him this summer.
