Historic Night For Granada After Win Over Napoli

Spread the love

Granada claimed a memorable 2-0 win over Napoli on Thursday evening in the first leg of their Europa League round of 32 tie.

Two first half goals from Yangel Herrera and Kenedy were enough for the LaLiga Santander side to claim a comfortable win at Nuevo Estadio de Los Carmenes on the night.

The biggest positive to take from the game though was that Granada managed to keep a clean sheet, meaning that a single goal in a week’s time will leave Napoli needing four goals to progress.

Granada led before 20 minutes had been played, as Manchester City loanee Herrera turned in a Machis ball at the back post.

That lead was doubled just two minutes later, this time through Kenedy. Machis was again the creator, teeing up the Brazilian to fire a low shot past Alex Meret.

Napoli now have a mountain to climb at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, as Granada are yet to concede more than one goal in a European fixture.
