Manchester City Back In The Title Race After Brilliant Win At Stamford Bridge

Manchester City sent out a warning to the rest of the Premier League on Sunday after a convincing 3-1 win away at Chelsea.

Pep Guardiola’s side have endured a frustrating start to the season for their high standards but looked at their best at Stamford Bridge.

The game was all but over from the first half, as three goals within 14 minutes of each other put City in the driving seat.

Ilkay Gundogan’s cool finish from the edge of the box got them on their way after 18 minutes, before Phil Foden went from provider to scorer just three minutes after the German’s strike.

Kevin de Bruyne, who set up Foden for his goal, netted against his former side on 34 minutes to leave Chelsea fearing an onslaught.

However, Guardiola’s side instead dominated the ball, and kept their opponents’ threat to a minimum.

That was until deep into injury time when Callum Hudson-Odoi grabbed a consolation.

Nevertheless, the three points head to the blue side of Manchester, which leaves City four behind Liverpool and Manchester United, and having played a game less.
