BBOG Display Empty School Desks In Honour Of Kidnapped Chibok Girls

There were moments of reflection at the fifth anniversary of the abduction of Chibok Schoolgirls by Boko Haram organised by the Bring Back Our Girls’ group.

 

Empty school desks and chairs were arranged to depict the school settings where the girls were abducted in their Government Girls Secondary School, Chibok in Borno state April 14, 2014.

 

At least 270 of the schoolgirls were abducted.

 

Some of the girls escaped, including, Amina Ali.

 

Another set of 21 girls were freed in October 2016, while one girl was also rescued in November same year by the military.

 

Similarly, 82 girls were freed following negotiations with government in May 2017, while one more girl was rescued in January 2018.
