…Man attempted to kill his neighbour’s dog over chicken

What started as a minor disagreement between two women, the wives of a Pastor and an alleged quack medical practitioner who lived as next door neighbours, in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government area in Delta State, over the suspicion that the German Shepherd dog belonging to the Pastor killed her chicken overnight.

Worldtopnewsng.com gathered to investigate the issue, our correspondent discovered the issue degenerated into threats and the wielding of a sharp machete by the ‘medical practitioner’, who inflicted deep cuts on the neck of his neighbours’ dog, that was tethered on a pole with chain and divided the face of the erstwhile beautiful German Shepherd dog along the crest of the nose into two equal halves.

The aggressive neighbour left the dog in a pool of own blood, satisfied that the dog would bleed to death from the deep cuts and retreated to the recesses of his flat.

On the arrival of the Pastor (dog owner), he confronted his neighbour cautiously, not too confident that the sharp machete would not become an instrument of murder against himself and his family in the hands of this aggressive neighbour and also mistook the almost lifeless, weak and bleeding dog for dead.

The dog was eventually taken to a veterinary clinic in Effurun, after 48 hours where it was referred to a more sophisticated private veterinary facility, GAN-ROVET Animal Hospital, in Bendel Estate, Effurun Warri.

At the GAN-ROVET clinic, the dog went through an extensive reconstructive surgery to rescue the dog.

Speaking exclusively with worldtopnewsng.com, Dr. Gani Enahoro, who is the Medical Director of GAN-ROVET Animal Hospital expressed surprise and disappointment with the alleged quack medical practitioner for the wicked and cruel act of inflicting such a severe bodily injury on the dog, even without a concrete proof.

In his words, “the worse is over for this dog, since the surgery was successful despite an unnecessary delay and severe loss of blood for almost three days before presentation to our hospital, however, the dog will remain in our kennel facility for continuous intensive post surgical care for the next one week before discharge to the owner”.

“I will also support the owner’s decision to press for charges against this extreme cruelty demonstrated by his neighbour”.
