Hope Rises For Deltans As Akpoveta Plans Agency For Health Insurance Scheme
The Chairman Governing Council of the Delta state Contributory Health Commission, Dr. Isaac O. Akpoveta, has revealed plans to establish an Insurance Health Scheme for every individual in Delta state.
“That there is hope in the state to end no money no treatment, but with provision of the state insurance scheme every average man or woman can run to any of the general hospital without a kobo demanded of him or her for treatments.”
Dr. Akpoveta, explained that the state governor, Sen. Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa is a man with listening ears, that his campaign, prosperity for all Deltans will not yield results without good health for the good people of delta state “Okowa has promised to make sure both private hospitals that operate within Delta state key into the initiative of the state insurance scheme programme.
He explained further that anabling environment will be provided for the private sector to participate with a view to increasing access to health care delivery in the state.
“Governor Ifeanyi Okowa has already giving the directives to carried out the health insurance scheme and to ensure the success of the scheme.”
Dr Akpoveta explained in details how Deltans will enjoy the health insurance scheme, “you can registered for a token and it will be calculated together for you to pay a mega amount of money for a year, with these you can take any member of your family to any government hospital without paying a kobo for his or her treatment provided you have registered for the state Health Insurance Scheme.
“To this end there will not be room for you to say, you do not have money to upset your mother or father’s hospital bills, this is a way of introducing reforms, rejig the health system and make it better.
“Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa have provided that enabling environment in the sense that he wants the rich and poor to have the same fare medical treatment within the state by calling on all stakeholders, politicians, entrepreneurs, market women students to come out enmass and support the state Health Insurance Scheme.
“The scheme is for every one, that every resident of Delta is going to contribute to that purse, we are going to use both public and private health providers and that is where Delta state Contributory health Commission comes in with good health facilities.
“Also, to enable us to process the programme effectively, we are using both public and private health insurance agents. Those will act between the government and the people with respect to providing the health insurance scheme.
