Humanity First Nigeria, a non-governmental organization committed to promoting and safeguarding human life and dignity, has donated a cheque of N1 million to a rainstorm victim in Ogun State, located in the South-west region of the country.

The donation was made during a press briefing at the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at Nigeria headquarters in Ojokoro, Lagos, where the organization discussed its achievements and upcoming projects.

In addition to the donation, Humanity First Nigeria announced plans to complete a hospital in Gwagwalada, Abuja, and a clothes bank in Lagos this year.

The group, which operates under the umbrella of Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat in Nigeria, aims to provide relief and development aid to the world’s poorest and most vulnerable populations.

The organization has conducted several free health service programs, distributed clothes and household items, and dug two boreholes to serve over 25,000 people across 10 communities in Ogun and Kano States.

In 2023, over 14 million individuals globally received assistance from Humanity First, with over 18,847 people supported in Nigeria in various ways.

Humanity First Nigeria’s objectives are to relieve suffering caused by natural disasters or human conflict, strengthen people’s capacity to help themselves, and promote peace and understanding based upon mutual tolerance and respect.

The organization is currently focused on food security, which aligns with UN-SDG goal two to end hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition, and promote sustainable agriculture.

At the press briefing, Dr Abeeb Yekeen, Chairman of Humanity First Nigeria, urged Nigerians to support the organization in providing aide for the less privileged in the society.

However, the rainstorm victim, Mr Akinleye Olushola, was presented with a cheque of N1 million to rebuild his house at the end of the press briefing.
