Governor’s Wife Empowers Women With Gas Cylinders, Grinding Machines
The First Lady of Imo state, Barr. Chioma Uzodimma has empowered one hundred women with grinding machines and gas cylinders.
The first lady shared photos from the ceremony on her social media page on Saturday and wrote:
“Today, my office, in collaboration with the Ministry of Women Affairs and Vulnerable Groups, fulfilled my pledge to empower several women in marking #InternationalWomensDay2022 in Imo State.
“One hundred women comprising of ISAMATA Women’s Wing, Christian Association of Nigeria -Imo State Chapter, Catholic Women Organization – Imo State Chapter, and the indigent across the Local Government Areas within Imo State were empowered with Camp Gas Cylinders, Grinding Machines, and even cash gifts.
“Offering empowerment opportunities to our women is in line with the plans of the Shared Prosperity Administration of my husband, His Excellency Hope Uzodimma, to create an economy that is gender inclusive and free from bias.As the Commissioner for WAVG announced during her speech, this empowerment program is a continuous project my office looks forward to fulfilling.
“My deepest gratitude goes out to the Wife of the former Speaker, Imo State House of Assembly – Mrs. Chinyere Emeziem, along with representatives from my office, Hon. Humphrey Ikeaka, Special Adviser (Special Duties) and Hon. Princess Amarachi Anyaehie, Special Adviser (Media) for their effort in ensuring the event was gracious.”
