Trump And Obama Won’t Be At Royal Wedding

Neither President Trump nor ex-president Obama will attend the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle — as the royal couple decided to make their nuptials as free of political drama as possible, a report said Tuesday.

A Kensington Palace spokesman said world leaders and political figures would not be invited in their official capacities, CNN reported.

The president — whose relationship with British Prime Minister Theresa May and other UK officials has been prickly at times — and first lady Melania Trump were not invited, nor were any other elected US politicians, a White House official told the network.

The Obamas, who are tight with the couple, will not be attending, although it was unclear if they had been invited.

“It has been decided that an official list of political leaders — both UK and international — is not required for Prince Harry and Ms. Markle’s wedding,” a spokesman for the royal family said.

“Her Majesty’s government was consulted on this decision, which was taken by the royal household.”
