Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez are to soon have a new attacking partner by the name of Ousmane Dembele, and the Frenchman will be in charge of filling the void left by Neymar as part of the new look ‘MSD’ frontline.
It will not be easy for Dembele to match the numbers set when Neymar completed ‘MSN’. In the three seasons together, the trio became the best in the Catalans’ history by breaking all kinds of records.
The 20-year old arrives in Spain as the most expensive signing ever for the Blaugrana, having notched 10 goals and 21 assists last season for Borussia Dortmund.
How Barcelona’s frontline has looked over the years
- Messi – Luis Suárez – Neymar
- Messi – Alexis Sánchez – Neymar
- Messi – Villa – Pedro
- Messi – Ibrahimovic – Pedro
- Messi – Eto’o – Henry
His tally will be expected to be much higher this campaign however and he will have to try to gain a special connection between himself, Messi and Suarez, just like Neymar had.
But the old king is dead and now the future of the Camp Nou will be relying on the boots of a new star in the making – Dembele.
