Paul Pogba won a penalty on his return from injury as Tottenham and Manchester United played out a 1-1 draw on Friday night.

The two sides were replenished with previously unavailable players like Harry Kane, Heung-min Son and Marcus Rashford in their first match back since the restart of the Premier League.

Jose Mourinho’s Spurs opened the scoring in the first half when David de Gea was unable to keep out Steven Bergwijn’s low shot.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer called on Pogba just after half time and the substitute made the difference for the visitors, winning a penalty off Eric Dier.

Bruno Fernandes converted the spot kick to level the scores and he thought he was going to get the chance to win the game late on when United were awarded another penalty.

This time, the decision was overturned, sparing Dier’s blushes after he was initially penalised for bringing down Fernandes.

The draw sees United move to within two points of Chelsea in fourth place, while Spurs stay further adrift in eighth.
