Real Madrid Haven’t Lost When Bale Scores For Four And A Half Years

While Gareth Bale was the hero of last season’s Champions League final, it’s not clear whether or not he’ll be in the starting line-up ahead of Karim BenzemaLucas Vazquez and Vinicius against Ajax on Wednesday night.

If he is, though, and if he scores, then Real Madrid can feel confident of avoiding defeat.

That’s because Los Blanos have not lost a match in which the No.11 has found the back of the net since August 31, 2014.

That was in a 4-2 loss away at Real Sociedad, but since then they’ve always taken something away from the games in which he has beaten the opposition goalkeeper.

Since that goal, he scored in 14 matches in 2014/15 for 14 victories, he scored in 12 matches in 2015/16 for 11 victories and one draw, he scored in seven matches in 2016/17 for five victories and two draws and he scored in 16 matches in 2017/18 for 13 victories and three draws.

He has kept that up this season by finding the back of the net in 10 matches, each of which was a victory.

Santiago Solari will hope this magic run keeps up as Real Madrid chase their 14th European Cup.
