Real Madrid Contacted Dzeko In January

Spread the love

The winter transfer market has never been liked by Florentino Perez and historically not by Real Madrid, but all that could’ve changed this year after it was revealed that Los Blancos had contacted Roma’s Edin Dzeko.

Except for the arrivals of Marcelo or Higuain, few players that have joined in the January window have provided solutions.

With Kepa as the main objective in January 2018, Real also looked at different options for other areas of the team, and one of them was Dzeko.

That was the most delicate moment that Karim Benzema has ever had at the club.

Zinedine Zidane had the last word, and he firstly refused to accept Kepa’s arrival and then didn’t open the doors to a new striker; although he did listen to proposals from the board.

First it was Chelsea who approached Dzeko, and then Madrid, but in both cases they offered him the role of substitute.

The sporting and private life he keeps in Rome led him to reconsider everything and he ended up staying in Italy.
