FC Barcelona and Sevilla FC have reached an agreement for the transfer of Ivan Rakitic. The Andalusian team will pay FC Barcelona 1.5 million euros plus 9m in variables.

FC Barcelona publicly expresses its gratitude to Rakitic for his commitment and dedication and wishes him good luck and success in the future.

This Wednesday, September 2, starting at 11.00am CEST, the farewell ceremony and subsequent telematic press conference of the player will take place.

Six years and 13 trophies

Rakitic is leaving Barça after six glittering seasons, in which he has played a key role in winning no fewer than 13 titles:

Champions League: 1
La Liga: 4
Copa del Rey: 4
Club World Cup: 1
European Super Cup: 1
Spanish Super Cup: 2

The Swiss-born Croatian joined FC Barcelona from Sevilla in the summer of 2014, and wearing number 4 on his back, he quickly became a regular feature of the blaugrana midfield. In fact, he has gone on to become the foreigner with the fourth most appearances ever for Barça, only topped by Leo Messi, Dani Alves and Javier Mascherano, and has the most appearances of all for a European foreigner.

Versatile, hard-working and an expert reader of the game, he is leaving the club after 310 competitive appearances, scoring 36 goals and giving 36 assists.
The most memorable of all was his goal in the 2015 Champions League Final in Berlin, the first of a 3-1 defeat of Juventus that earned the club the trophy for the fifth time.
