NUGA Games: 10-man LASU Secures Quarter-finals Slot

….. LASU Played Draw In All Group Matches

 

Team Lagos State University (LASU) has secured slot in the quarter-finals stage of Nigerian Universities Games Association (NUGA) going on at Makurdi capital of Benue State.

It was another epic encounter and a successful time out between Lagos State University (LASU) and Abubakar Tafa-Balewa University (ATBU).

The two teams played a classic soccer as they made it pure entertaining match for their fans and the home crowd.

Team ATBU was lucky to have scored early goal in the 4th minute of the match.

Some minutes after, team LASU midfielder, Ajose Zaccheus Oluwatoyosi was booked a red card in the 8th minute of the game. Team Lasu did not relent as the game become more tougher for both teams. The first half ended well in favour of team ATBU leading with a goal.

As the second half began LASU stepped up their game and bounce back to as Hamzat Kamaldeen, 200 Level department of Political science paced the ball into the 18 yard box and shoot placed a shoot at the back of the net in the 7th minutes of the 2nd half.

The game became more tougher for the both teams in the last match of their group stage to decide whoever qualify to quarter-finals stage of the competition as the game ended in 1-1.

Other two teams in their group FUK Gombe and ESUT who played at the the same time ended their game in goalless draw.

Both teams qualified for the quarter-finals stage of the tournament. The two teams played penalty kick to decide whoever comes top on the table. The penalty ended 5-3 in favour of ATBU which makes team ABTU top  the table and team LASU came 2nd in the group.

Team Lasu will play host team UniAgric tomorrow (Thursday, 27th April, 2017) morning by 7:30am while Team ATBU will play FUTA 9am tomorrow morning too.
