Nigeria To Host Journalists Across The Globe In June

Nigeria will host journalists across the globe in June through the International Press Institute (IPI) Congress 2018.

This was disclosed by Barbara Tronfi, when addressing a news conference in Abuja. She expressed the joy of IPI members globally to come to Nigeria and share their experiences of journalism practice.

Barbara went on to visit all facilities put in place by local organising committee and the IPI Secretariat in Nigeria.

The IPI director is scheduled to meet two notable media owners in Nigeria, owners of TVC, Asiwaju Tinubu and Mr John Momoh of channels TV.

Barbara Tronfi is set to pay a courtesy visit to the Governor of Lagos state on Friday.

The theme of this year’s congress is, “Why Journalism Matters (And how to make people like it)”. There will be network sessions. The pre-congress worship focus on covering elections-possible partnership.

The former chairman of Independent Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Attahiru Jega, will deliver a short presentation.

Two vehicles have been branded for the international press institute congress in Abuja.

The Liberian President, George Weah, will lead other very important dignitaries to the event.
