NGO Seeks Collaboration With Okpe Monarch On Anti-drug Abuse Campaign

The Hauz of Elnathan Initiative  (HoEl), a  youth led non-govermental Organisation (NGO), and the Nigeria Face of Hope Ambassadors, Eze T. Isaac and Rejoice Onyemaechi, has solicited for the collaboration and support  of His Royal Majesty Orhue1, Major Gen. Felix Mujakeruo RTD, CFR, MNI, Orodje of Okpe Kingdom in its campaign to ensure the eradication drug and substance abuse among youths and teenagers in Delta State, and Nigeria at large.

The Initiative,  which has been known for its aggressive campaigns against the use of hard drugs, met with the royal father to intimate him on their plans to ride Delta of the harmful habit.

Led  by the Project Administrator of the NGO, Mr. Peter Enaruke, the NGO noted that the lives of so many youths have been ruined by the intake of hard drugs in various shades, and that all stakeholders must rise to join the campaigns to discourage our youths involvement in this illicit acts.

“Your Highness, I know you must have heard of us and the Ambassadors about our campaigns,  We are a team,  inspiring Hope and enhancing the campaigns against drugs and substance abuse among teenagers and youths in Nigeria. Although our constituency is the entire country, paucity of resources has however limited our operation to South-South region”, he said.

“Our goal is simple. Our message is clear. We are moving from school to school, community to community telling  our youths and teenagers that nobody becomes the President of a country by been a drug addict. We are telling them that drug addiction can only ruin their lives. It adds absolutely no value to their existence. I am glad we have succeeded in changing the orientation of many. Every single soul we have saved is important to the society. We will not relent till the very last moment”, he added.

In his response, the monarch thanked the visitors for their initiatives and urged them to continue their campaign. While assuring the group of his supports, the Orodje advised the group to have a proper survey of schools in the area so as to ensure that the campaign gets to every nook and cranny of the locality.
