Another victory came Rafael Nadal‘s way on Wednesday as he sealed his place in the third round of the Australian Open.
?It is the 13th time that the Spaniard has reached this stage, overcoming world No.48 Matthew Ebden with a score of 6-3, 6-2 and 6-2 in just under two hours of play.
Nadal was only ever on the ropes for a brief period in the first heat but despite Ebden feeling as though he had done little wrong, he was trailing early.
The Australian’s level slipped as time progressed, whereas the Spaniard only got better.
Nadal returned to hitting speeds of 204 kilometres per hour, which is his highest at the tournament, which killed off what little hope remained in Ebden from his home supporters.
