Mo Salah Ends Goal Drought To Send Liverpool Top

Liverpool beat Southampton 3-1 at St Mary’s Stadium in a vital result at the top of the Premier League table.

Given that Manchester City are in FA Cup duty this weekend, Liverpool had an excellent chance to return to the top of the table and they took advantage of that, though they had to come from behind.

Shane Long gave Saints the lead after nine minutes, but Liverpool were able to equalise through Naby Keita not long before half-time.

Mohamed Salah scored an important goal 10 minutes from the end, firing his shot into the bottom right corner, as he ended his goal drought in style. Jordan Henderson secured the victory six minutes later, having come on as a substitute.

Liverpool are now two points clear of City at the top, but Pep Guardiola‘s side have a game in hand.
