Man City Defeat Everton To Leapfrog Liverpool At Premier League’s Summit

They may have played a game more, but Manchester City overtook Liverpoolat the top of the Premier League table on Wednesday evening with a 2-0 win on Merseyside as they beat Everton at Goodison Park.

Pep Guardiola‘s side started 2019 seven points behind Jurgen Klopp‘s side, but now the two are on 62 points each, with the Reds to play next on Saturday against Bournemouth.

Aymeric Laporte gave City a second half lead shortly after half-time and it wasn’t until the 97th minute that they got their second through Gabriel Jesus.
