Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowskihas been warned by coach Niko Kovac that he will not be allowed to leave the club.
Although the Poland international has been linked with a simmer exit and is keen on a move, the new man in charge insisted the German champions are putting their foot down.
“He’s not going to leave the club and I can safely say that we don’t want to sell him,” Kovac told Sky Sports News in Miami on preseason.
“It is true that Robert would like to go elsewhere but what he would like and what we want are different things.
“We are the ones who decide and Robert has a contract here, although I don’t know when it expires.
“But he will fulfil that deal for as long as possible.”
The former Borussia Dortmund man, who has been linked with Real Madrid, is under contract at the Allianz Arena until 2021.
