The pair of Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu and Kadir Femi Hamzat is a God sent hands to move the state forward especially from where Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN) left it. This, coupled with their brilliant performances as commissioners under Babatunde Fashola administration where they served with dignity, dedication and high level of commitment.
This statement is contained in a press release from a campaign group, Campaign for Dignity (CFD), signed by their General Secretary, Adekunle Adeosun, who said that is the reason for supporting the duo for the coming election, insisting that, “the Government House is no go area for any other party beside the APC that threw up the duo of Sanwo-Olu/Hamzat ticket.
Against this backdrop, the group assured Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and Babatunde Fashola of their readiness to campaign vigorously for the success of the party and its governorship standard bearers along with other party’s candidates across board, enthusing that, “victory in the next year’s election is as good as a foregone conclusion.”
The CDG, who believed that, “no reasonable person would jettison a winning party to go for ‘Trial and Error’ party said that, the performances of the progressive party since 1999 1under Tinubu in Lagos up to the time of Fashola in 2015 are clear indication that the well informed people of the state will give APC another chance.
According to the statement, the people will vote APC and its governorship candidate, Sanwo-Olu and his deputy, Hamzat for the continuation of democracy dividends enjoyment, adding that, “nobody would want good things to cease abruptly via wrong decision over choice.
The group, which is predominantly youth vowed that they would utilise their numerical strength and their agility to pound all the nook and cranny of the state to galvanise votes for Sanwo-Olu/Hamzat ticket to ensure landslide victory pointing out that, “complacency can be dangerous as it is not over till it is totally over in politics and in electoral process.”
The CDG also reposed their confidence in the duo that they would not disappoint the good people of the state, stating that, “we have confidence that they would build on their experiences while in political offices to take Lagos State to the next level of enviable standard in the comity of nations.”
The group then commended the National Leader of the APC and former Lagos State Governor, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his foresight in throwing up the duo, believing that they will also take after their father (Fashola) and grandfather (Tinubu) in performance that left behind legacy of achievement.
In conclusion, the group therefore appeal to the people of Lagos to vote en masse for Sanwo-Olu/Hamzat ticket next year for more democratic dividends assuring that, “we will not be disappointed.”
