Some elites in Igbaye, a prominent town in Odo-Otin Local Government of Osun State, have formed a group for the purpose of contributing meaningful and beneficial developmental projects for the rapid growth of their community.

Operating under the umbrella of Igbaye Development Vanguard (IDV), which membership cuts across all professions and spread across the world decided to come together with the major objective of giving back to their community what the community had earlier given to them.

Speaking with worldtopnewsng.com, two of the interim conveners of the Vanguard, Dr. Sunday Alayemi and Barrister Rafiu Adeoye Popoola further disclosed that, “the main aim of our coming together is, among other things, to rekindle the lost lustre and interpersonal lovelyrelationship among ourselves.”

In addition to that, the duo disclosed that, “our immediate areas of concentration will be renovation of our joint public properties like schools, Health Centres, Town Hall, Public Utilities like Toilets, Post Office among others.”

Alayemi and Popoola also affirmed that, “beside the renovation of a few dilapidated facilities in the town, building of new ones like e-library, Recreation Centres and Event Halls is also in the pipeline.”

Already, the renovation of Igbaye Community High School (ICHS), which is being jointly financed by the Vanguard members and Old students of the school, is already in progress. After its completion, announcement/notification will be made following which school affairs including its maintenance would be delegated to old students and the Parent Teachers Association (PTA), while the Vanguard will face other projects.

Also the re-lining/re-grassing/reconstruction of three major football fields is also on-going under the supervision of a Coach, Prince Rafiu Jason. The fields to benefit from the group’s largesse are St Marry Primary School, Nawair-Ud-Deen (NUD) Primary School and Igbaye Community High School (ICHS) fields. All the Goal Posts and the Nets that are in bad shapes are also marked for either repairs or outright replacement.

When our reporter visited the town, workers were seen working round the clock putting a dilapidated school block in order.

The cost of putting the block of classrooms in order, according to Alayemi and Popoola, is about N5m jointly contributed by the Vanguard members, old students of the school and some eminent indigenes of Igbaye land all of whom were not taxed, but encouraged to key into the important project t because of its importance to the community and humanity at large.”

The group, which is a non-governmental, non-religious and non-political, is bent on making positive impacts in the town to raise its glory to an enviable level of world standard.
