The home fans at the Estadio El Alcoraz saw Huesca claim their first ever home LaLiga Santander point on Sunday afternoon, as they came from behind to draw 1-1 with Girona.

The visitors from Catalonia had taken the lead in the 37th minute when they were awarded a penalty after consultation with VAR, with is being ruled that a foul on Cristhian Stuani had taken place inside the area and not outside, which was the original call.

The Uruguayan striker stood up and fired straight down the middle for his sixth goal of the new season.

Huesca‘s equaliser came about in very similar fashion, as VAR once again decided that a foul had taken place inside the area and not outside, as referee Adrian Cordero Vega had originally ruled.

Again the ball was placed on the spot and this time Huesca scored, with Gonzalo Melero dispatching the penalty kick.

Both sides pushed for a winner and Stuani and Ezequiel Avila both had half-chances in the final 10 minutes, but it remained 1-1 and both sides add one point to their tallies.
