The Honorable Commissioner for Works and Housing, Engr. Abubakar Ohere has described as amazing, unprecedented and high level of political will the commitment of His Excellency Alh. Yahaya Bello the Executive Governor of Kogi State on the massive turnaround of key infrastructures particularly in the health sector across the state.
He made this commendation in Lokoja today while inspecting the ongoing building construction work at the State Specialist Hospital Lokoja
He lauded the governor for prioritizing the healthcare sector and funding the bills of the less privileged within and outside the country.
The sustenance of this momentum according to Ohere has now resulted in the massive turn around in the health sector infrastructure that we are witnessing today and the appropriate legislative framework that will make them work better and serve the people right.
Engr Ohere who made the remarks while inspecting the ongoing civil works at the State Specialist Hospital Lokoja and Okene Reference Hospital expresses satisfaction with the scope and level of works currently going on at the two sites.
He further directed the contractors to adhere strictly to the approved design and safety standards.
He also commended the generosity of the Chief of Staff to Governor Pharmacist Abdulkareem Asuku Jamiu in his efforts at providing free medical healthcare support services to Kogites particularly for the cancer patients as tremendous and worthy of emulation by all.
“This is the kind of services I also enjoy doing and I know how expensive they could be“ Ohere stated.
Engr. Ohere, then, pointed out that Gov. Bello administration has made great impact in the health sector by implementing health reforms such as Kogi State Health Insurance Scheme, Kogi State Primary Healthcare Development Agency (KSPHCDA), Bello Cares initiative and above all Okene reference hospital bill recently passed into Law by the Kogi State House of Assembly.

He finally expressed joy over the kind gesture Pharm. Asuku recently extended to one Mrs. Onyi Moses from Ozuja, Obehira in Okene local government who was diagnosed with breast tumor and prayed for the lifetime sustainability of this humanitarian service.
