Chelsea finally found their shooting boots on Saturday, putting four past Brighton & Hove Albion for their first victory of the year, following Premier League draws with Arsenal and Leicester, a League Cup stalemate with Arsenal and two FA Cup draws with Norwich – after which the London side progressed on penalties.

Right from the off, Eden Hazard impressed, scoring the 100th league goal of his career after just three minutes, while Willian added the second in the sixth minute of the match, following a neat passing move.

The Seagulls already had a mountain to climb and simply couldn’t do it.

Hazard impressed throughout, every time he touched the ball, before he scored his second of the afternoon in the 77th minute.

Charly Musonda came on as a late substitute and he set up Victor Moses in the final minute for a fourth goal, completing the thrashing and finally giving Chelsea fans something to cheer about in 2018.
