UEFA’s executive committee have made their decision on the host country for Euro 2024 and have decided that Germany will stage the tournament.
The other bid came from Turkey, but their wait to host a major tournament goes on.
Germany’s last hosting of a tournament was the 2006 World Cup, while the European Championships last visited the country in 1988, when West Germany was the host.
This tournament will be the next European Championship to be held in just one country, with Euro 2020 set to be staged across 12 different cities, including the Allianz Arena in Germany.
