…Says, Sanwo-Olu is handling the protest well

A Human Rights Group, the Black Youth Vanguard (BYV), has warned anti-democratic elements to keep off the on-going protest in the country stating that, the protest is never aimed at grounding the government but to encourage reformation for a better Nigeria.

Convener of the group, Comrade James Adeyemi, in a signed statement in Lagos said anybody who nurses the plot to hijack the protest for any hidden anti-democratic mission should better forget it, saying the Nigerian youth have the capacity to resist such devilish mission with military precision.

Any attempt by any anti-democratic elements to hide under the on-going transparent protest against police inhumanity to man in the country, Adeyemi warned, would be vehemently resisted, saying, “we would not condone any act of incitement capable of truncating the hard-earned democracy in Nigeria.”

According to him, vigilance is imperative in the precarious situation on ground to watch out for some unscrupulous elements, who may want to seize the opportunity of the genuine agitation of the youth to provoke the military to toy with the idea of staging a coup, asserting that, any plot towards such a diabolical venture would be met with strong resistance.

“We are ever ready to protect the nascent democracy in the country. We would never stomach any attempted design to undermine the democratic experience the good people of the country have been savouring in the last 20 years. The hard-earned experience would be protected and secured with the last blood in our veins. We admonish anybody or group of the people nursing such to let it perish in them. We have reached a democratic point of no return to a pariah nation status after all the sacrifices from the sweet experience,” Adeyemi stated emphatically.

The youth leader was, however, full of praises for the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu on the patriotic manner he has been handling the protesting youth and the way he has been identifying with them, expressing satisfaction that, the governor is doing well.

He also commended the youth for their maturity and patriotism in the way they conduct themselves during the exercise, advising them to be wary of hoodlums, who may want to infiltrate their ranks to rubbish their good intention towards a better Nigeria.
