As we wait for confirmation from UEFA on June 17 about the future of the Champions League, different options are already being considered.
The tournament is expected to return in August, once many domestic competitions have been concluded.
Lisbon has already been suggested a potential host for a ‘final eight’ format, which German newspaper Bild say will host the remaining last-16 fixtures.
Those fixtures include Manchester City vs Real Madrid (2-1 on aggregate), Barcelona vs Napoli (1-1), Bayern Munich vs Chelsea (3-0) and Juventus vs Lyon (0-1).
Bild say that Frankfurt has been ruled out, while Madrid has also been suggested, but UEFA‘s executive committee will take the decision on June 17.
Lisbon hosted the first all-Madrid Champions League final as Real Madrid beat Atletico Madrid in 2014.
