Cech Claims 200th Premier League Clean Sheet In Arsenal Win

Alate defeat at Watford earlier in the season may have set the tone for Arsenal’s campaign but they got their own back against the Hornets on Sunday, winning 3-0 at the Emirates Stadium.

Shkodran Mustafi set the Gunners on their way with their 1000th home Premier League goal and it was truly a day of milestones as Mesut Ozil’s 50th assist was racked up in the top-flight. In the second period, the lead was doubled when Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was fed by Henrikh Mkhitaryan to score.

A subplot of Sunday’s game involved Petr Cech’s quest for his 200th Premier League clean sheet, Arsenal having failed to keep one in the division in 2018, and that arrived courtesy of a penalty save off Troy Deeney in the 61st minute.

The points were sealed via Mkhitaryan’s second strike in a good week for the club, which was undoubtedly much needed for under pressure coach Arsene Wenger.
