“A few months later, I went to fetch water early in the morning; I didn’t know my husband was trailing me.  He woke the neighbourhood up with his noise. He ran after me, shouting that I was going to meet one of my lovers.

“I felt highly embarrassed. I reported him to his parents and mine.

“The two families came together and mediated in the dispute.  After listening to both of us, they blamed him for being irrational and jealous.

“He was not satisfied with the  verdict and kept to himself for days.

“She’s an adulterer, “Taofik  told the court.

“Her friend’s husband is her lover. He lives near us.

“I was returning home one night on my motor bike  when the head light shone and revealed two figures cuddling  each other at a street corner near my house.  As I drove closer, I realised they were my wife and her friend’s husband.

“I never knew they had been sleeping  with each other under my nose. I later learnt from neighbours that they had been dating for a while.
