🔰Top seed Rafael Nadal progressed to the 4th round with minimal fuss with a straight sets win over Argentina’s Leonardo Mayer. Nadal will face Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Damir Dzumhur in the next round.

 

 

🔰Marta Kostyuk became the youngest player to reach the 3rd round of a Grand Slam since 1997 as the 15-year-old qualifier beat Olivia Rogowska at the Australian Open. She faces Ukraine’s No.1 Elina Svitolina in the next round – An Ukranian Derby!!

 

🔰Croatia’s Ivo Karlovic became the oldest man(turns 39 next month) to reach the 3rd round when he edged Japan’s Yuichi Sugita in a 5-setter that lasted four hours 33 minutes — the longest match in the tournament so far.

 

🔰Jo-Wilfred Tsonga avenged a straight-sets defeat to Canadian teenager Denis Shapalov at last year’s U.S. Open to reach the third round for the 10th time. The Frenchman was down 5-2 in the decider before he fought back to claim the victory.

 

🔰Caroline Wozniacki fought back from two match points down to beat world number 119 Jana Fett in the Australian Open second round. She won 3-6 6-2 7-5 in two hours and 31 minutes, having been 5-1 down in the final set.

 

🔰British No.2, Kyle Edmund followed up his upset of Kevin Anderson in round one by breezing past Denis Istomin 6-2 6-2 6-4 in just an hour and 29 minutes.
