APC Primaries: Senator Alimikhena Emerged: To Represent Oshiomole In Senate

The highly contended seat to determine who represent the APC National Chairman and Edo North in the Senate has come to an end with the incumbent deputy whip of the Senate securing his second term ticket as the APC candidate to contend with his rival Engineer Abubakar Momoh of the PDP in the general election in 2019.

The incumbent Edo North Senator was collectively endorsed by the leadership of the All Progressive Congress (APC ) in Edo North as the choice candidate of the APC National Chairman comrade Adams Oshiomhole and the Governor of Edo State Godwin Obaseki who desired to produce a ranking Senator in the 9th Senate.

All odds favour the Incumbent Senator because, it is belief that only Senator Francis Alimikhena has the massive endorsement and support of the grassroot to conveniently defeat the PDP Candidate in the general election. This obvious fact may not be unconnected to the reason why other contender in the race stepped down to pave way for his emergency in order to deliver the party in the general election.

Meanwhile the Director General of the Senator Alimikhena Campaign Organization Mr. Lucky James has expressed gratitude to all that participated in the primary election. He said he was overwhelmed with the large turn out and support of the people saying the victory in the primary is a stepping stone to the major victory that awaits the APC in the 2019 election.

Lucky James who was a former Commissioner in the Oshiomole’s admimistration stated this In a statement issued by the publicity Secretary of the Campaign Organization Mr Benjamin Atu. The DG thanked the APC electoral committee for the peaceful conduct of the election in various parts of the State. “The APC National Chairman  Comrade Adams Oshiomhole has deepening the internal democracy of the Party and restore confidence in our Democratic experience by using men and women of proven integrity in the conducting party affairs.”

In his acceptance speech made available to the press by his aide Benjamin Atu, the Deputy Whip of the Senate and winner of the APC Primary election in Edo North Senator Francis Alimikhena  assured the leadership of the APC in Edo North that he is coasting to Victory in the 2019 General election.” We defeated PDP in 2015 despite their military intimidation to emerged as the only Senatorial zone with APC senator from the South South. “If we did it then we will defeat PDP hundred times again and again in Edo North “.

Senator Alimikhena who was Unopposed in the just concluded Edo APC primaries today, maintained that his Victory is a victory for Edo  development and not a victory to enriched himself. “I called on all those who were aggrieved in one way or the other during the process of the primary to put the past behind them and come along with him to developed Edo North. ” The usual political debate and conflict that arise during an election should not been taken personal as a chaos but as part of the Democratic process. “I therefore call on all my brothers and political associate to come on board to collectively deliver the party in the general election.

According to Senator Alimikhena, ” Let no man’s heart fail him. The battle is not Between me and PDP candidate is like a battle between light and darkness. 2019 election is an election between a performing Senator and a failed legislator.” ‘ I am coasting to victory in the 2019 general election. ” My victory was signed and sealed the day PDP made the mistake to give Engineer Momoh their Party ticket.
