Sen. Adeola Olamilekan, an ally of Lagos State Governor, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode has endorsed Babajide Sanwo-Olu as the State All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate.
Sources revealed to worldtopnewsng.com that Yayi announced this endorsement at an emergency meeting with members of his campaign team on Sunday 30th September 2018.
The endorsement came few hours after Ambode announced his readiness to run in the party primaries slated for tomorrow 1st October 2018.
The governor’s decision to run is contrary to advice giving by leaders, elders and stakeholders of the party.
Yayi stated unequivocally that he would tow the party line by affirming the choice of the party as candidate for the party.
“Let everyone who has ears know that I am for Babajide Sanwo-Olu for governor. The criticism against Sanwo-Olu is just a distraction. The leaders of the party have spoken and we have align ourselves with their decision,” says the senator.
A groundswell of opposition has greeted Ambode second term bid, accusing him of relegating party members to the background in the running of affairs in the state among other alleged infractions.
But in his press conference, Ambode said he would run for the governorship primaries insisting he would resist any attempts to disenfranchise him during the primaries.
However, in his attempt to denegrate his major opponent in tommorrow’s election, the governor alleged that Sanwo-Olu is unfit for governorship because of his mental state even as he further alleged that the popular aspirants has a case of fraud hanging on his neck in America.
