150 To Benefits From Ahmadiyya Nigeria-Humanity First Free Eye Surgery

In continuation of her Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), the Ahmadiyya Muslim Hospital, Kano, North West Nigeria, has put in place arrangements for free eye surgery for one hundred and fifty (150) patients which cut across all religious and ethnic dimensions.

In a statement issued and signed by the Hospital’s Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Mudassar Ahmed and made available to PRNigeria, the surgery would be preceded by screening for cataract on first come first serve basis at the hospital premises on Sunday June 24th, 2018 beginning from 8.00am to 2.00pm “A free eye camp will be held on Sunday, 24th June 2018 at Ahmadiyya Muslim Hospital Kano from 8am -2pm.

150 patients will be screened for cataract on first come first serve basis and will be given appointment for free surgeries”, the statement said in part. Dr. Mudassar further said that “so far 784 patients have already been operated free of any cost, and called on well-meaning Nigerians who have such cases to bring them up for screening and eventual surgery to restore sight to the down trodden in the society.

World Top News Ng recalls that last year no fewer than 502 Nigerians have benefited from a free Cataract Surgeries in Kano conducted by Ahmadiyya Muslim Hospital, in conjunction with a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), Humanity First over a period of one year. No gift could be better than the gift of sight, hence this humanitarian effort by Ahmadiyya Muslim Hospital and Humanity First (NGO).

Head of the Team, Dr. Mudassar Ahmed who gave the indication in Kano, said the first surgery was conducted in September 2016. Since then, “40 free Cataracts surgeries are done monthly while 17 free medical Camps have been held across the country to screen and select Cataract patients for the surgeries. Ahmed said.‎

He announced that the hospital is conducting another Free Eye Camp on Sunday 12, November to screen visually impaired patients, detect Cataract and conduct more Surgeries for people to have their sight back.

He said the exercise will start from 8am to 2pm and enjoined people who have various eye defects to take advantage of the programme.‎
